When I had Precision repair the screwed up turbo I upgraded both turbos to dual ball bearing and just to be safe I went a little bigger on the restrictor size (.058"). I actually need to jet it down a hair but I want to measure the oil output and jet it perfectly for my appliion.

Jul 04, 2012· Usually the only turbos that require a restrictor are the newer ball bearing turbos. The exhaust side of that turbo looks a little dark. It may be possible that the piston seal on the tubine side in the turbocharger is coked and the drain inside the turbo is plugged with carbon which won''t allow the oil to drain down so it goes past the piston ring into the turbine housing.
